Title: A New Pragmatics: Presuppositions

Abstract：

In this paper I apply the New Pragmatics to the topic of Presuppositions. We’ll see that Stalnaker doesn’t tell us what presuppositions are, as he doesn’t have the requisite conceptual tools, but STPP does. We’ll also make the crucial distinction between the usual technical Presuppositions and Ordinary-Language Presuppositions. And we’ll explore various features of Presuppositions.
